1. Introduction

Welcome to Vernacular! These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Vernacular mobile application ("App"), including all related features, content, and services. By accessing or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you must discontinue use immediately.

2. Eligibility

To use Vernacular, you must be at least 13 years old. If you are under 18, you may only use the App with the consent of a parent or legal guardian. You are solely responsible for ensuring that your use of the App complies with all applicable laws and regulations.

3. Account Registration & Security

Some features may require an account. If you create an account, you agree to:

• Provide accurate, current, and complete information.
• Maintain the confidentiality of your account credentials.
• Accept full responsibility for all activities under your account.

We are not responsible for unauthorized account access due to user negligence.

4. Use of the App

By using Vernacular, you agree that you will not:

• Attempt to reverse engineer, copy, distribute, or modify the App or its content.
• Use automated tools (scraping, data mining, etc.) to access the App.
• Engage in any activity that could harm or interfere with the App's functionality.

Violation of these terms may result in termination of your access.

5. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer

Vernacular utilizes artificial intelligence (AI) to generate definitions, sentence examples, and exercises. While we strive for accuracy, AI-generated content may contain errors, and we do not guarantee its correctness.

Vernacular is provided as a tool for vocabulary learning, not as an authoritative linguistic reference.

6. Intellectual Property

All content within Vernacular, including AI-generated text, user interfaces, and proprietary algorithms, belongs to us or our licensors. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, revocable license to use the App solely for personal, non-commercial purposes.

7. Payments & Subscriptions (If Applicable)

If Vernacular offers paid features, the following applies:

• All payments are final and non-refundable, unless required by law.
• Subscriptions auto-renew unless canceled before the renewal date.
• We may change pricing at any time, with notice to existing subscribers.

8. Data Retention & User Rights

We reserve the right to retain all user data indefinitely.

Users cannot currently request to download their data, but we are working on adding this feature in the future.

9. Termination of Use

We may terminate, suspend, or restrict your access at any time, with or without notice, if we determine you have violated these Terms or if we choose to discontinue the App.

10. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

Vernacular is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind.

We do not guarantee uninterrupted service, error-free content, or compatibility with all devices.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of the App.

11. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of Delaware, USA. Any disputes must be resolved through arbitration or mediation, unless otherwise required by law.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of Vernacular after updates constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
